The word ‘Can’ is defined as “being able to do something physically or mentally.” This means that you are permitted to do something that you would want to do now or perhaps in the future.

Human being was designed to be able to do things easily. This configuration was on set from the time a child is born. The evidence is in the way a kid tries out new things willingly during playtime without hesitation and with practice, gets use to it so that it gets to a point where the kid can engage in that recreation with ease.

Our brain is wired to be able to change and accommodate to changes easily. Though it may take days, months or sometimes years to accommodate, it will be able to do anything. But not on its own: we have a part to play generally in the process; controlling our brain and not the other way round.

When God created man, He gave him authority over the earth: all what the earth has to offer. This shows that man, human, has a permission to do anything.

God created us in a way that nothing on this earth possess a threat to our ability. Nothing! Take for an instance a boy with no hand sewing clothes with his legs: a man with no right arm packing sand with his other hand: a man with no ears able to hear sounds with the aid of a device. This is just a little compared to a lot going on in the world of the possibility of man being able to do all things.

When I mean by Man can do all things, the statement may sound incomplete. Rather, I say, Man can do all things he puts his mind to do. Anything!

St Paul in his letter to the Philippians puts it this way: I (we) can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (us). Philippians 4:13

Do you want to be a world renowned Doctor, Therapist, Psychologist, Accountant, Innovator, Change Agent, Entrepreneur, Inventor and all good you dream?

If your answer is YES! Then, you CAN! You have the ABILITY already; so you CAN.

A wise man, Solomon, in his Proverbs says that “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he”. Proverbs 23:7

This statement carefully examined would see a degree of responsibility on the part of anyone who desires to do something – anything. The responsibility on it’s part is to prove that nothing goes to anyone without full acknowledgment of desires that may be.

Do you think? Then, what you think should be of a positive and not negative. Else you won’t be able – You can NOT – to do anything.

However, if you think that you can be a revolutionist, a change agent, a Nation builder and so good of your dream, then you CAN.

The saying of the wise man further supports that the reward for what you think in your heart is your becoming of that which you have thought.

When I was a teenager I lived in a community where dressing as a boy was termed ‘cool’ when you sag your nicker or when you wear a ‘pencilled’ trouser.

I came to believe that this is simply the best way to live life and that if I don’t participate on that dress code then I am not ready to mingle with the big boys. I would be called a pastor if I had dressed responsibly; my trouser up to my waist and my clothe neatly ironed.

It became obvious that I was tempted to dress accordingly like them so I could feel ‘belong’. It almost became part of me: I sag my clothe. Do you know what? I liked it. Dressing that way came with a feeling that I am on top of the world not knowing that I just got lower.

However, after short term of experiencing the ‘feeling fly’ feeling I became to query my decisions after my mother disciplined me on the cause of that dress code. Not that she disciplined me with cane or something of that sort but with words that gave me reasons to be a better teenager and become a better personality come future. You know mothers; those, who their words or eyes could reset you to your default.

I endured their words that almost shattered my thoughts to living a responsible life and took the words of my mother that changed me into a role model for others coming up.

Truth be told, there are certain things that the society has termed ‘cool’ when in every sense it is so ‘uncool’. The likes of dressing, respect, responsibility, and honour. It’s all wrong and not ‘cool’.

Dressing almost naked and rugged so you can impress the mass is wrong. Respecting someone because of what they have and not who they are is wrong. Recognising someone who is irresponsible to be responsible because of his wealth or influence is wrong. Honouring someone who doesn’t deserve to be honoured is wrong. These are not normal.

Let us “Normalizes the Normal” and forget the abnormal where it was. It has done more harm than good; broken dreams, changed mindsets and disconnected the future from the hands of the real owners.

This is amongst many options to be considered in restoring the dignity of human existence as a society. Let’s fix this issue before it gets to a point where we see the abnormal as the normal and then, the Normal as the abnormal.

Dear one,

Normalise the Normal!

Thank you for reading. Feel free to spread the word: your friend needs it. Cheers!

“It is hard! It is hard!”

When will you get tired of saying such to yourself?

“I can’t do it! I can’t do it!”

When will you get tired of saying that to yourself?

Don’t let your gift and talent waste over mediocrity.

Don’t let your doubt get into the way of what you could become if you try.

Start, believing that the little step you make, will accumulate to big wins that would give you breakthrough.

Love is a beautiful thing when shared.

St. Paul gave a vivid example of it’s beauty when shared.

He says:

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.  Love is eternal. (1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬8 GNB)

From the above you can notice that their are other parties that makes this love worthy of being called what it is.

Those parties when involved is what makes Love beautiful.

Take for an instance on the scenario of God Loving man that He gave up His son for the redemption of man.

That’s a vivid example of the beauty of Love.

The story of St. Valentine defines this too to be a beautiful thing to share Love.

Also, your mom and dad is an example that Love is beautiful when shared; you reading this is a result of that beautiful love shared.

Love is beautiful when shared…

Sharing is synonymous to giving.

So, we can say that Love is beautiful when we give.

By giving you commit your compassion to the well being of the receiver.

What can you give?

What you have: Wisdom, Knowledge, Material possession, Goodness, Kindness, Love and anything worth giving.

Giving to someone is like taking the responsibility of caring for the need at hand.

Therefore, we can say that Love is responsibility.

Sharing is caring.

There is love in sharing.

Love is beautiful when shared.

A boy once went to a native doctor, popular called a ‘babalawo’, to make him to become rich. He explained the reason why he wants to become rich and one of the reasons is because life has dealt him real good.

The babalawo understood him clearly and swung into action. He mixed a concoction for him to use during his bath as soap and also during his meal; that it would bring money to him thereby making him rich.

The boy was excited that finally his dreams of becoming rich would come true. He collected the charm taking heed of what the babalawo said that would be the penalty for breaking the covenant he made; he would be mad.

Few weeks down the line, nothing was showing fort but he kept on performing the ritual hoping the magic will work out just as he expected. As weeks sluggishly went on to months nothing showed forth and with anger boiling in his blossom he went to confront the babalawo.

When he got there and explained what had happened, the babalawo laughed uncontrollably.

“Ah, agbami oh, baba, all you did was to laugh!!!” He said furiously “I am telling you that what you gave me did not work out as expected and you are here laughing!!! What the…”

“Dare say that word and you would speak no more. Idiot!” the babalawo said “are you okay? You think to become rich is just a day something? Don’t you know that you have to work to show yourself approved ni? Oleburuku oloshi”

He laughed again and continued “You are a mumu man! You don’t have anything doing and you want to become rich. Just like that! Nothing to show forth! Just to sit at home and expect my demons to bring money to you! Will you pay them for the transport fare? Waka there!”

“You would have told me that I should get something doing nà! And which one is transport fare for demons ya?” The boy asked.

“Is that not what you expect? You roam around the neighborhood doing nothing from morning to night” He replied “You don’t even think of what to do to help your life and you think that riches would come like that? You are truly lazy oh, even devil self go work before him go see something chop ahbi you wan claim senior devil ni? Lazy youth! Get out of here before I feed you to those demons you have made angry! Idiot! Onye guuf!”

At some point in my life I had experienced unbelief and it feels like I don’t know what to do or what I am doing. I was like: what is there to believe anymore; is this not the reason. I mean, what is really really there to believe when something doesn’t work as I expected and all that.

This happened but at that same point, through what I have learnt about little things and believing, I took record of what had gone right from my little belief and that gave me a strength to come up.

This might be you.

At some point in life believing in something is hard but it is at that point that our Faith and ability to believe can soar to the greatest of heights.

It is okay to feel like this might not work but it is more wonderful to feel that it might work. You need to also see the possibility of things working out and that’s when you would get the little strength you need to overcome your unbelief.

Are you facing a season of doubt?

Try believing just a little. You can do this by reminiscing on the previous victories that has kept you going. You would see the magic it would work in you.

Believe you can and you would believe you can!

If life had not been spiced up with some challenges it would not have been a productive stay here on earth.

Life has it’s fair share of challenges and it’s fair share of success; to which you are enjoying now, learn and be ready to accept what comes next.

Change is inevitable.

No matter how heavy these success and challenges are, if you don’t believe you would be through with it and get to another stage, you would be caught up unaware.

Don’t let that happen.

Be at attentive and keep your Faith alive, you would pull through.

A boy had a dream and in that dream he saw himself a king over those close to him, including his parents. Out of excitement he told his family about that dream and also relatives. He was so happy of what he saw in his dream; how glorious he would become and how influential he would be.

His family, after they had heard him, criticized him of such saying that it can’t be; that what he was saying was just an illusion of what he had been thinking about. That he over ate the night before and for that cause, he had dreams of such. That he had listened to so many stories about kings and kingdoms, probably from their dad because their dad travelled a lot.

He was down casted and weary. The people he thought to have faith in and in turn have faith in him had made jest of him, mocked him and said he was crazy. Even his close friends deserted him: saying that he’s going crazy and would not want people to see that they are friends with a crazy fellow like him.

However, his joy was not cut off. Though they might not be seeing what he’s seeing and though they might not be listening to what is playing in his background, he never stopped half way. The dreams kept coming and in different dimensions. This made him too sure of what is to happen in the future.

Few weeks later, he went after his brothers who were taking care of their fathers flock. On getting to where they were, they seized him and an opportunity came for them to sell him off instead of killing him. Of which they did for an amount.

Deep down he was thinking ‘Is this the price I have to pay for this dream Lord?’ ‘What have I done wrong, Lord, to deserve this: I’ve been obedient to your word. Is this how I’ll be repaid?’ ‘God, are you somewhere looking at this being done to me?’

Just when he wanted to give up, he heard deep down in his spirit, some place where no man can temper, that ‘He is better than this and that Nothing can separate him from the Love of God: Not even his brothers act, words or mindset towards him. Not even his friends words or acts or mindset towards him can separate him from the Love of God’.

With this assurance he continued even when he was accused of raping his master’s wife. He was imprisoned, beaten and mocked beyond what he thought this could be. But he trusted the process of becoming what God has laid into his heart that he will become.

Days ran into years and then it happened. Everything he saw and was assured by the spirit began to fall into place. He’s a hardworking and smart fellow, so he is sensitive of the seasons and times. He knew when the time has come for him to become what he was destined to be.

Years later a great famine struck the earth and as it has been, God always showed him what’s to come because he was in constant fellowship with Him. He showed him what he needed to know to sustain those he governs over and also those who would come to him for aid.

He became a go-to man when it comes to solutions because he had passed through so many experiences that had trained him and inspired him to live right. Also, God’s Favour and Light was upon him.

Furthermore, his brothers came a certain time to his country unknowing to them that they will be caught up with fate. He recognized and even in pain showed kindness to them. They did not know and so thought to be guilty of nothing.

A day came when he unveiled himself to them and they were honestly guilty of what they had done. But, the boy who is now a man, married and governs a country never counted it as wrong because they played to the tone of God’s plan.

When you have a dream be ready to go through the process that leads to the Glory of that dream. It will be painful. Rugged. Galloped. Teary. Keep at it you will see the light soon.

A lot of us thinks that someone just emerged a winner but the truth is; a seed takes time to germinate and afterwards grow and then bear fruit. A seed can never and will never turn into a fruit in a single day.

Joseph is a hardworking and a smart man. His ability of working to perfection earned him respects even in prison. Don’t relent because you have a dream: work towards it and don’t be idle. It will come to pass one way or the other.

Hardworking is a child to RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility is your ability to respond to situations around you.

Always listen to your inner voice. It keeps you sane in an insane world. It reassures and reaffirms the promises of God and would strengthen you each time you are weak. Shut the door against the negative voices about you.

The HOLY SPIRIT still leads people today and I am humbled to be part of them. You too is also part of those who are lead, if you will yield.

When you are going through tough times, remain your consistent relationship with God. Those tough times were meant to distract you from remaining in the presence of God.

Distractions are every where and your ability to remain consistent will birth results.

Be sensitive. The tough and roughly times are distractions that are meant to keep you away from recognising what’s in store for you in God’s Kingdom.

Will conclude with the words of St Paul to the Philippians in verse fourteen of chapter three; I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Doubt is an enemy but you can use it to your advantage.

This is Good news!

This means you can doubt whatever you have been told to believe about yourself.

Doubting can also be seen as questioning the system you have been made to believe about yourself; that you can not, that you can never, that you will remain this way, that you will never succeed, that you can never become better without them.

You CAN doubt and question these sayings and become a better version of yourself.

Nobody should make you think bad about yourself when God wants you to become a better person in all you do.

God, when He was done with creating man, said it was GOOD. If He said it then, He says it now and everyday to you because He sent His Son, JESUS, to die for your sake. His Love is ever great upon you; He Loves YOU passionately! Never forget that!

Doubt your Doubt!

Doubt that lie that has become a truth over the years. Doubt it! Question it!

You will become better. It is a process. Trust it.

A certain woman travelled to a far away village in Africa to have an experience of what life feels like in that space. She got to that place and loved the landscape. Though the surrounding looks impoverished of infrastructures and social amenities, she enjoyed her stay.

A certain day during her weekly routine strolling she saw a supposed ‘evil’ child whom the village had left to die. He was impoverished. He looks like a skeleton: his bones are seen clothed with thin skin. His belly big and legs very thin. You can imagine!

Immediately she saw this ‘evil’ child, she was engulfed with compassion. Her eyes rained tears. Never has she seen such a ‘cute’ child left to die for some traditional jamboree. This was made known to her by her travel guide who almost scolded her for going close to this child. She approached the boy and gave him water to drink from the water bottle she brought along with her for the walk. The boy drank up and was satisfied. She took him into her custody to take care of him.

Few days later, she went back to her country with the boy. First, took him to the hospital to run an all round check up to see if he was infected while left to die. Hopefully, none was detected but the doctor prescribed supplements to help regain the state of being and also boost the immune system.

This kind hearted woman took care of the boy and made sure he had everything he desired. He was enrolled into school to begin life with.

Few years later, the malnourished ‘ugly’ looking ‘evil’ boy is now looking healthy, happy and full of life. You would never believe if he was ever that deserted and malnourished. You won’t! You would doubt!

This is to show you how what you can say is that bad and evil can be good and beautiful in another person’s view. Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.
